for December, i bring to you my first ever bookstagram challenge!!! i’m so excited to have been able to create this challenge and with two of my FAVORITE people Kai (@readingwhimsies) and Rhiannon (@beneaththepage). please feel free to contact me either here or on instagram (@abookishadventurer) if you have any questions or concerns or if you want to let me know your participating! we’d LOVE to have you whether it be one day or the whole month we know the holidays are a very busy time! also, even if you don’t celebrate christmas or any holidays we tried to be sure that all of these prompts are adaptable for all 🙂

here’s a bit of an in-depth description for each prompt with a some examples and/or links i’ve included 🙂

December 1. bookish wreaths —> create a wreath out of books, pages, lights, funkos, an actual wreath or anything you’d like! (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 2. book & christmas lights —> post a photo of book/s with some beautiful christmas or fairy lights (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 3. books & bows and/or ribbon—> showcase a book or books with a bow and/or ribbon because they’re gifts. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 4. books & cookies —> its national cookie day! post a photo of books with cookies. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 5. books & candles —> show us those beautiful candles you have with a book! (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 6. happy birthday Hagrid! —> post a photo with anything related to Hagrid for his birthday. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 7. books & scarves —> scarves? why not its winter 🙂 take a photo of a book and scarf/scarves
December 8. book you’d gift —> a book you REALLY recommend and would gift (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 9. flannel friday —> take a photo with flannel or plaid. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 10. (you’ll shoot your eye out) book that made you cry —> any books that made you cry or just break on the inside? show us! (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 11. stocking (sock) sunday —> post a photo of a book or books with some cute socks and add a stocking if you’d like 🙂 (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 12. gingerbread book house —> its national gingerbread house day! take a photo of a real gingerbread house you made or create a house out of books.
December 13. warm cocoa & warm read —> national cocoa day! use some warm cocoa in a photo with a cozy read. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 14. a christmas carol: book that involves music —> post a photo of a book that has a theme of music, singing or instruments. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 15. 12 days of christmas: 12 bookish things —> post a photo with 12 bookish items (such as: books, candles, bookmarks, pre-order goodies, posters, bookish clothing, a mix of all… etc) (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 16. Weasley sweaters —> its national ugly christmas sweater day! book with an ugly christmas sweater or any sweaters! (i.e. 1)
December 17. slytherin vs. gryffindor: naughty or nice —> slytherin v. gryffindor! red or green! naughty or nice! pick a side or both show us 🙂 (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 18. “OMG SANTA! (i know him)” —> national answer the phone like buddy the elf day! yeah that’s a thing so so some elf love take a photo of anything related to the movie or some green and white books! 🙂 (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 19. white christmas (white books) —> post a photo of white books or spines. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 20. #bookishtree —> post a photo with a tree as a prop or create a tree out of books! (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 21. book snowflake —> post a photo with a snowflake prop, out in the snow (if you have any) or arrange a snowflake out of books!
December 22. family traditions (books that have them & tell us yours!)  —> post a photo of a book that has family traditions or is family orientated then, tell us about your traditions! we’d love to get to know you more 🙂 (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 23. the nightmare before christmas —> post anything related to this movie (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 24. t’was the night before christmas —> post a cozy photo or read (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 25. yuleball —> its yuleball time at Hogwarts! post a photo of anything related to Harry Potter and/or the yuleball. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 26. peppermint pages —> national candy cane day! book with candy canes or candy cane colors. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 27. under the mistletoe: books with anticipated kisses —> post a photo containing anticipated kisses also, tell us what book character you’d love to get caught under the mistletoe with 🙂 
December 28. joy to the world: book that brought you joy! —> show us a book or books that you loved and has bought you joy! (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 29. wrap(ped) up —>books you have finished reading throughout December. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 30. hauliday —>books you bought or received throughout the month of December. (i.e. 1 , 2)
December 31. a farewell to 2016 faves —> show us your favorite/s reads and/or bookish items from 2016.
January 1. *BONUS MIDNIGHT POST* 2017 (typo in the photo) recommendations —> post a photo (at midnight) of any book recommendations you have for 2017!
